Dallas Morning News
"Kenn George – a Dallas businessman, two-term state legislator and federal trade official – has the business experience and knowledge of state government to serve effectively."

Tyler Morning Telegram
"George proposes a Texas Total Energy Plan that he contends will encourage new exploration on undeveloped state lands with mineral potential and generate additional revenue for the Permanent School Fund as well as create jobs and provide low-cost electricity and gas to public schools. George has an impressive background in promoting conservative issues and building his party. He has a business background in the oil and gas industry and has managed a major healthcare corporation.

Kenn George has the proven business experience and management qualifications to make him the choice for the Republican nominee as Land Commissioner."

Lubbock Avalanche Journal
"He has an excellent grasp of the job and would be an energetic force for raising money from public land for education in Texas."
Longview News Journall
"George has a broader background in the arenas for which the state land commissioner is responsible — land management, health care management and oil and gas and real estate management. He is committed to improving the state programs for veterans. The Longview News-Journal recommends that Republicans vote for Kenn George in the primary.."
San Angelo Standard Times
In the view of the Standard-Times editorial board, Republican Kenn George is the better candidates in the Republican Party primary on March 12.

"George’s background has prepared him well for the land commissioner’s job. He was an oil company owner in the 1970s, served as assistant secretary of
Commerce in the Reagan administration and later owned a hospital group. The benefits of an oil background are obvious, but his hospital experience also would be valuable since the General Land Office oversees veterans hospitals. His administrative experience in the Commerce Department would serve him well; he was responsible for the Caribbean Basin Initiative and the economic redevelopment of Granada in the 1980s. George proposes a severance tax holiday on state-owned lands to increase oil and gas production, and also espouses a program to provide more loans for military veterans."

Bryan College Station Eagle
In 1998 the Eagle endorsed Jerry Patterson. This year, "the Eagle recommends a vote for either Kenn George or Jerry Patterson for land commissioner."

Wichita Falls Times Record News
"Kenn George's extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, land management and real estate gave him the critical foundation key to serving as land commissioner. George understands the fragile balance between preserving our state's wildlife while protecting the rights of property owners."
Corpus Christi Caller Times
"Rep. George is a solid pick for Republican voters. "
